VALOUR is a Government initiative designed to make it easier for veterans, Serving Personnel, and their families across the UK to access the care and support they deserve. It strengthens existing services by improving coordination, building on what works, and helping local support align around the individual’s needs.
The Armed Forces Community HQ, based in Wigan, and founded by Gill Molyneux and Cdr Charlie Neve RN, (Ret’d) are honoured to announce that they have been selected as one of the first regional hubs for the Office for Veterans’ Affairs national programme: VALOUR. With almost £1m funding over 3 years.
AFCHQ, within Greater Manchester, was part of the VALOUR Pathfinder project that showcased the regional expertise and knowledge, informing the national VALOUR Blueprint, which will be launched nationally this year. The Secretary of State for Defence, John Healey and Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham made a visit to Wigan and the AFCHQ, Thursday 16th April, to witness for themselves the work the AFCHQ does in this important veterans’ sector.
