About Us

The Submariners Association is an Association of serving and veteran submariners which seeks to maintain the special bonds of friendship, loyalty and comradeship, together with a pride in the Submarine Service, formed during service in HM Submarines.

The Submariners Association traces its roots back to a chance meeting between a group of Ex-Submariners in 1932. After a reunion dinner in Pompey, they decided to organise a similar event in London, leading to a well-attended reunion dinner at Carr’s Restaurant in the Strand in November 1933. Enthusiasm ran high, prompting the decision to form the Submarine Old Comrades Association. The association quickly gained momentum and events like Ladies’ Night, Reunion Dinners, and a Memorial Service became regular highlights. Lord Keyes served as President, and the membership boasted distinguished Admirals, all former Submarine Captains.
